In 1972 Melinda Blauvelt spent the summer photographing a small fishing village on the Acadian Peninsula of New Brunswick. Creating portraits of the families and people who lived in the area and their day-to-day life, she created a series of work that captured a period of time that saw deep social changes.
In 2023 the work was exhibited for the first time at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. The accompanying printed catalog showcased the remarkable portraits and as well as an essay by the artist and an introduction by Herménégilde Chaisson.
