February 24, 2022

The Details is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our growing team. Working with a wide range of local and national clients, The Details is a full-service creative agency based in Fredericton, NB. Our studio is a collaborative, creative hub that offers the personalized experience of a boutique agency with all of the services and expertise of a larger shop. We’re a well-rounded team with a broad range of experience in marketing, branding and identity design, copywriting, web design, and more.

The role

An agency’s product is creativity, it’s unlike any other product. It’s emotional, shapeless, and ever evolving. Managing creativity isn’t always like your typical management role. It can be at times, fairly atypical.

You’ll partly be relied upon for the typical side of the role: to be a seamless conduit of information and support in order to help the effective execution of projects.

In order to provide this day-to-day support, you’ll need to both manage and own projects in a fast-paced and executionally-driven reality. You’ll be responsible for setting the stage for the creative team, clients and other partners to work together harmoniously. Your keen understanding of project timelines, deliverables and specifications is what will help  push forward the process.

While the typical side of managing projects is fairly technical and rational, you’ll also be relied upon to manage the creative side of the job which is on the opposite end: unorthodox & emotional. A lot of what you’ll do on the day to day is to manage emotions: be it from the creative product itself or from your colleagues or even your clients. That is the all important means by which you can fulfill the ultimate, more functional end: ensuring projects move forward.

Specifically, your role will be to help uncomplicate the complicated day-to-day in order to free-up the creative’s brainspace so they can focus on doing what they do best: create. In taking on that responsibility, and in making the communication clear, concise and purposeful you will help the agency create meaningful and better design work.

You will be accountable for navigating through that creative and project complexity to set and adjust the emotional barometer in order to move projects forward.
